This year we'll be celebrating ol' Rabbie's birthday with the great folks at Nicholson's MusiCafe, 632 East Bidwell Street in Folsom.
Come join us for a family-friendly celebration on Saturday, January 24, starting at 6:30 pm. We'll be playing, maybe piping, singing, and generally holding forth on Scotland and her national poet, and we're hoping for a good crowd to share the fun.
Nicholson's MusiCafe offers coffee drinks, a variety of teas, baked goods, excellent hot cocoa, and even beer on tap if that's what you prefer. Board games and books are there for your use, meaning that there's something to do for all ages.
So dust off your sporran and polish up your ghillies, and we'll all tak' a cup o' kindness yet for auld lang syne. Let's make this Burns Night one to remember!

Farewell, Little Prague
Riggity Jig has been fortunate to have Little Prague
as our home venue for the last 14 years. Who woulda thought partnering
Celtic music with Czech food would have been so much fun. We are truly
blessed that Vaclav and Eva opened their restaurant, bar, and hearts to
us; their kindness and generosity will not be forgotten.
Sadly, Vaclav and Eva have decided to close Little Prague. They have asked us to come in and play one more gig, for the road. Please join us for one last Czech-style céilidh. Come in and taste Eva's great cooking and fine desserts while you still can. There will also be plenty of specials on beer, wine, and cocktails. Sláinte.
Friday, July 11, 6-9 PM. 330 G Street Davis.

Robert Burns Supper, 2014
Saturday, January 25th, we will be celebrating the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns, with music and poetry and even traditional treats like haggis! Please join us from 6-8 in the main dining room of Little Prague, and then from 8-10 when we move to the bar for a bit more of a rolicksome time. We'll be joined by our MC/declaimer of poetry for the night, Duncan McMartin, who is standing in for our customary DS (Designated Scotsman), Tom McKeith. Tommy is in poor health this year, and we hope you will join us praying for his speedy recovery. Joining the band and piping in the haggis, not for the weak of heart, stomach, or lungs, will be highly accomplished local bagpiper Erik Leiken. And even if you are weak of heart, stomach, or lungs, you should try a good helping of the night's haggis, as it contains all three along with a good helping of oatmeal and several other items we don't really have a word for in English.
The folks at Little Prague always have some special menu items just for this event, as well as a grand assortment of whiskies to try, as well as many other liquid refreshments. Reservations are strongly encouraged if you want to join us in the dining room. 330 G Street, (530) 756-1107.
"But pleasures are like poppies spread,
You seize the flower, its bloom is shed;
Or, like the snow-fall in the river,
A moment white, then melts forever.”
― Robert Burns, Tam O'Shanter
